ClaesDiamonds - Gold Diamond Braclet

Diamond Carat

Carat is the standard unit of mass used when measuring the 'weight' of diamonds.

1 Carat (Ct.) = 0.20 grams

The word 'carat' is derived from the Greek word 'Keration'. The kernel of the Carob bean produced by the Locust tree. Such a kernel weighs approximately 0.197 grams.

Weight should be recorded to accuracy of 2 decimals, a hundredth of a carat. Rounding up the second decimal is unacceptable unless the third decimal is a 9.
