ClaesDiamonds - Gold Diamond Braclet

Diamond Colour | Ruby Diamond | Pink Diamond | Diamond Color

Diamond colour refers to the amount of visible body colour the diamond possesses when observed by the naked eye.

When a diamond is graded for colour, we take into consideration three factors:

  • Hue:  Refers to pure colour.  Hues include grades and mixtures of purple, violet, blue, green, yellow, organe and red colours.
  • Tone:  Refers to how a colour is positioned on a colourless to black scale.
  • Saturation:   Refers to where a colour sits on a neutral to vivid scale.

Diamond colour is graded on a scale from D to Z, where D represents the “exceptional white” appearance.

As technology has evolved however, mankind has learnt how to manipulate diamond colour through the application of radiation, heat and pressure.  Claes Diamonds advocates proper and honest representation of these treated stones and their true diamond colour.

Most diamonds will contain traces of yellow or brown in the body colour.

When it comes to diamond colour, the colourless grade is the most valuable, with the exception of some fancy colours such as pink, red, purple, red and blue.  These diamond colours are rare in nature, adding to their value.
